Serbia to Become a Member of Single Market Programme – Opportunity for SMEs
Government of Serbia adopted a Draft Law on Confirmation of the Agreement through which Serbia becomes an associate country in the EU Single Market Programme. This opens the domestic SMEs access to EU funds and equal conditions for tenders in public procurements together with companies from the Member States.
This programme, worth several billion EUR, is intended for the growth of competitiveness, development of standards, consumer protection, food safety and improvement of statistics. Serbia has decided to focus on the SME competitiveness pillar. Special benefit will be provided by continued financing of European Enterprise Network (EEN), which assists companies in Serbia in internationalization, digitalization and sustainable business since 2008.

For Serbian business sector, this means increased opportunities to obtain grants for developments of clusters, tourism, innovation and young entrepreneurs projects.
By joining this Programme, Serbia also fulfills part of its obligations from EU accession negotiations from Chapter 20 – Entrepreneurship and Industrial Policy.
