The first train from the Tuzla Canton in Bosnia and Herzegovina arrived in the Croatian Port of Rijeka.
The commencing of freight rail traffic is important for connecting the economies of BiH and Croatia, but also for the entire region of Southeast Europe, because in this way delivery time will be shortened, transport costs and waiting at customs will be reduced.
Business community in BiH and Croatia received this news with joy, because now there is an alternative to truck transport and some of the congested local and main roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia will be relieved.
The container terminal in Tuzla is the starting point for loading containers with goods. It will be possible to transport 30 to 70 containers in one train. The composition will leave for Rijeka once a week in the beginning, and when the interest grows, the number of compositions on a weekly basis will also increase.
